Steep Learning Curve?
Well after less than 14 hours, I’m still alive - but suffering a fair bit of brain drain as I try to personalise my WordPress installation.
While I have little doubt about the power of this thing, the learning curve is a tad on the steep side… The amount of information available on the WordPress Codex site is mind boggling! Is there a “WordPress for Dummies” book out there???
It certainly is impacting on the time I have available to get the rest of my site up and running at such an early stage.
I’ve downloaded and installed many of the plug-ins recommended by Jack Humphrey in his Authority Black Book, and while I found them easy enough to unzip, install, and activate… some of the options settings require even MORE reading of stuff that really doesn’t make much sense to this old fella!
Where IS my copy of “WordPress for Dummies” again??? 
I’m getting there, but there’s a lot to learn and lots to do elsewhere at the same time, so if this blog stays just a little on the “newbie” side of life for a few weeks (months) until I can catch up with the bells and whistles, then I do hope you understand!
Right now, I’m off to see if I can find a more “stephen” template than the WP default… mumbles… see what I mean about time wasting…
Update: A short time later, I’ve located a new theme, and somehow worked out how to modify it a little. Yes!
