Imagine the Possibilities…

Several of my sites have 50,000+ visits a month, and DON’T have a list. One even has close to 100k visits every month!

Imagine if I could “convert” a teeny percentage of those interested visitors each month - perhaps only 1% - I’d have 500 people added to my list each month.

In twelve months that could grow to be a list of 6,000 people who are “more than slightly interested” in what you had to offer.

Provided you gave them quality information and recommendations in your fortnightly or monthly emails, they will become an awesome sales point for you!

A newsletter every fortnight to that list is the equivalent of 156,000+ emails a year – to PEOPLE INTERESTED IN YOUR OFFERS!

People who can be encouraged to return to your site again and again and again… and who will start to rave about your site to their mates…

You’ve GOT to be able to generate something from that to contribute to your retirement fund… or initially your living fund :)

OK – while I get fairly good traffic to these sites, but how about a “normal” site with only 1 or 2 thousand visitors a month?

I’d expect your signup percentage could be even greater if you do things right. Let’s say 2.5% of 2000 a month. That’s 50 people a month, or 600 a year!

Not bad really, considering when things are slow, you can churn out an email to pump up the volume, practically on demand.

Useability expert Jakob Nielsen puts email newsletters as his NUMBER ONE recommendation to improve web site ROI! He says
“Email newsletters let you maintain a relationship with your customers that lasts beyond their visits to your site… they are the primary way to liberate your site from dependence on search engines.”

THAT’S the benefit of having your own list!

All those ups and downs from organic traffic are no longer that important, because your subscriber base becomes the FOCUS of your action.

There are two types of emails your subscribers can receive:

  1. an initial series of informative emails (called an autoresponder series), which is GREAT for an e-course or similar strategy
    and/or
  2. a regular broadcast message/newsletter

All YOU have to really do is decide WHAT information you can send out to your list, and then DO it!

For example… as soon as I can get tuit, I’ll be setting up my Aweber Autoresponder so I can plug in my RSS feed of latest posts to regularly send out to subscribers. It’ll be a GREAT synopsis of what’s going on here…

Now all I gotta do is do it…

And why haven’t I done it yet? Well… there are just SO-O-O-O many things to set up with a new site… and it’s on the list!
