Intro to Private Label Content

posted in Strategies |

If you can’t (or don’t want to) write your own material, or can’t afford to hire someone to do it for you, then consider using PLR (Private Label Rights) material. There are truckloads of this stuff available, often at extremely low cost or even free!

You can pick up literally thousands of PLR articles covering all sorts of topics… just waiting for you to plug into your web site or newsletter, or to compile into “reports” to be sold…

There are ebooks, reports and software with MRR (Master Resale Rights) which you can do almost ANYTHING with – sell them, give them away, break them up as articles, even claim the copyright to them! They even come with sales letters and graphics to make your life even easier…

Just remember - CHECK the terms of use to see what you are allowed to do!

PLR and MRR stuff is a tremendous source of content… with a couple of VERY important caveats!

  1. When searching for this material, you WILL see the same products advertised over and over, and over, again… Some people will charge you for them, while others will give them away in exchange for your email address :)

  2. Once you start looking, you will realise many of these products ARE absolutely EVERYWHERE… If you use them straight out of the box, then you are contributing to this not so nice phenomenon. Remember that search engines like original content, and do penalise sites that have simply duplicated content from other sources!

  3. So, this PLR stuff SHOULD and MUST BE changed if at all possible!

Use it for inspiration of what YOU can create yourself, so that YOU retain your individuality.

  4. Be careful of those packages that “automatically” change the words in your articles to make them “different”, or you might end up with gibberish! You might end up saying something about which you didn’t want…???

If you’re stuck for ideas on what to write to add new articles to your site, or need content for your newsletter, then PLR material can help get over that hurdle!

Again… just remember to carefully check the licensing and/or terms of use for the material you want to use.

One PLR membership site I WAS going to sign up for had a requirement that I MUST remain a member to continue to use any material I had previously downloaded from that site…

Considering the wealth of material available elsewhere, this is an unreasonable requirement!
