‘Net Marketing Toolbox Updates
In case you’ve been wondering why things seem to have gone a little quiet (no posts for a week)… you might be surprised to learn that a lot has been going on behind the scenes.
In particular, I decided that I needed to check out WordPress a lot more (WordPress is the publishing platform/content management system I’m using here at the ‘Net Marketing Toolbox).
Having been accused in the past of being a “control freak” (LOL), it might explain why I’m really excited about the level of control WordPress offers you (or anyone) as a site owner/builder.
Over the past two weeks I’ve been “playing” with this great tool at my new personal site… stephenspry.id.au and documenting my various WordPress learning experiences there. If you are new to using WordPress, can I suggest that site might be a good place to start.
So far the biggest hassle I’ve found with this is finding an appropriate design (theme/template) for your web site. I certainly do NOT have the CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) skills to create my own theme yet - but I will try and work on that eventually…
Like most people, I have to scour the ‘net looking for themes that might be suitable and then download and tweak them to suit.
Well after many days of searching, I’ve found an excellent theme for the ‘Net Marketing Toolbox site - making just a few minor changes to fit my needs. The Silver Lexus theme, from the people at Highlands by Design, is very “polished” and conveys just the image I want for my site. Thanks guys!
So I’ve found a theme I’m really happy with. Now I can get on with business
