Alternative Joint Venture Opportunities
On checking out a trackback for another post on my site, I discovered Terry Dean’s “integrity Business Blog”. After poking around there for a while, I starting writing a comment on one of his posts…
That’s the great thing about using blogs isn’t it… the ability to discover, comment and trackback… brings a whole new dimension to the phrase “web surfing”. Anyway… I digress…
My “comment” on Terry’s post was starting to grow… and grow… and, well, you get the idea! It got so-o-o-o big that I thought it warranted a place of it’s own HERE as well.
Terry’s post is about 7 JVs You Might Not Have Thought About and includes discussion on:
- Selling “Reprint Rights” to one of your products.
- Teaming up with “Experts” for a teleconference.
- Creating an autoresponder series which JV partners can include with their lists.
- Writing a review about their product which their affiliates can use.
- Doing DIRECT mail to their customers about your product.
- Doing telemarketing for them to their customers, and
- Including your product in someone else’s package.
Check it out! There’s some great stuff there!
My comment was about another JV opportunity to add to this list… It’s the one I am trialling here.
So far, I’ve only invited two partners to join, and both have accepted despite the relative “newness” of my site.
If your site is built using WordPress, you can “offer” selected JV partners guest Author status. This means they can include items from their emails and/or web sites/blogs on your site. You can offer to add the items yourself, or they can log in to add them.
Your “partner” gets an “Author Information” page with link back to their site, an RSS feed of their posts, and links from each post to their stuff (and maybe your affiliate link to their product there too).
You get great, fresh content from a growing community of “experts” in that niche, along with much more credibility than you can possibly create on your own.
How do you choose JV partners to invite to join your community? Simple.
Visit their blog/web site and see how frequently they post content and what they talk about. Many people start blogs, work on them for 2 or 3 months… and then move on to another project… with the blog now forgotten out-of-date.
You’d be surprised how many Internet Marketer’s blogs (some big names there) haven’t been touched for months!!!
For those who DO make regular posts, subscribe to their list for a little while and see what they have to say, and how they say it. If all they can do is promote the latest affiliate “must have” product… you’ll soon know
But if they add something to the niche you’re in… then there’s a prospective JV partner you should go for!
It’s affiliate marketing, linking, traffic generation, branding, and more all bundled together. Done well, it should work a treat for all involved.
