Fair Suck Of The Saveloy Dmitry!!!

posted in Uncategorized |

This trackback thing about WordPress is really good stuff, because it alerts you to people who have stolen your blog content and used it on theirs… sort of…

I just saw some new comments that needed moderation, both from the same site. On checking that site, I found THREE of my posts had been reproduced in their entirety, with a little acknowledgment pointing to the original post for just two of the items.

While I should be flattered that he might like my material… I’m not at all happy about the extent of the copyright violations!

Here’s the comment I left on his blog…

Dmitry

This post, and the previous two posts,
# Stuck For Time To Blog?
# Do You Want Fresh PLR Articles?
have been taken from my Blog and reproduced on your site without my specific permission. While you did acknowledge the source as the Net Marketing Toolbox for the previous two posts, you did not acknowlege it with this post.

Now I have no problem with people writing their OWN post about a topic on another blog that they found interesting, and include a referral to the original site.

But to lift the complete post word for word, without permission, is NOT ON!

But hang on… maybe it IS OK???

He DID leave my affiliate/referral links intact, so does that make it alright?

NOPE!

Why not let us know what you think by adding your own comment! Your opinion is as valid as anyone elses, so come on... let us know what you think.

    So You don’t sure?
O.K. Let’s see this problem new way: You write interesting articles, and let the others publish them in their blogs. What do You get, if You ask to place backlink? Growing PR! Think carefully - You have all of the benefits of this point of view.

The real problem is if I post Your article without permission, without changes and without backlink, and without pinging You - this is a crime.

In My case - it’s just another fat link to Your site.

    Hello Dmitry

Unfortunately, universal copyright laws simply do not align with your thinking. You just can NOT use material without getting the permission of the owner FIRST. It really is as simple as that!

OK. :) If You insist, I’ll change my point of view concerning Your site. :)

Thanks - I do insist :) But do not be surprised if other people are not so “understanding” about copyright violations and you will have to change your entire point of view on this issue.

And to think… if only you had ASKED IN THE FIRST PLACE, I would have said “no problem” as long as the item was suitably acknowledged… along the lines of the type of thing you see with Article marketing and the Author Resource box at the bottom.

Is that really too hard to do?

    Stephen
