Conversion Tactics 101
It’s a sad marketing fact that the vast majority of the people who visit your site will LEAVE almost immediately. A horribly large 95%+ of the visitors who land at your web site never come back.
Unless you take some action to change that statistic, you are probably wasting a lot of time and money by investing in traffic creation/generation.
After all… what’s the point of sending thousands of people to your site when only a teeny, weeny percentage of them will actually do something.
So tart up your sales page or squeeze page FIRST, and it will make an immense difference to the number of people who sign up for your offer, or opt in to your newsletter, or come back for more.
Aurelius Tjin’s recent blog post on 10 Unstoppable Conversion Tactics For Anyone Selling Anything Online is well worth looking at for ideas on how you can make relatively simply changes and boost your conversion rates out of the doldrums.
And in relation to Tactic #1 - “Use Your Self-portrait to Instantly Build Trust” - I have to admit, I haven’t had a good photo of me taken for years… I’d probably need to go to a commercial photographer and get it photo-shopped to fix it up for your viewing pleasure…
OK Aurelius… I’ll look into it… and the nine other tactics you suggest.
And there’s an excellent link in that post I can use when I get stuck for words when I’m writing. No - I’m not going to link to it here - you’ll just have to go and read the whole article!
Good stuff!
