One question that Internet Marketers everywhere wonder about is “How often should I mail my list?” Well, while I’m not attempting to answer that definitively today, I do want to show you something that is a tad on the extreme side… and certainly makes me wonder what some people think email marketing is all about…

Check out the number of emails I have received from just ONE Internet “Marketer” in the past FIVE days - as a result of signing up on his list to grab a “free” download…

Today - 18th Aug — 2 emails received so far - oh wait… ANOTHER one has come in while I’ve been preparing this post…. so make that 3 today (and it’s not even morning tea time)

Yesterday, Aug 17 — 7 (and I thought weekends were normally quieter!)

Day before that - Aug 16 — 6

August 15 — 7

August 14 — 7

August 13 — 3

There were MORE… LOTS MORE… but I just couldn’t fit them all into the screen capture! But I think THIRTY THREE emails in 5 days is more than enough to illustrate a point!

What IS going on with this guy?

Where DID he get the idea that bombarding your list with that many emails - on so many different topics - was the way to go?

Where DOES he get the TIME to do all of this anyway?

Needless to say, I’m unsubscribing from his list

I would’ve done it earlier, but due to the volume of email I do get, I only really noticed this email avalanche as part of my regular weekend cleanup.

P.S. I find it VERY amusing that the title of one of the emails I couldn’t show was
“Grow your list like a weed, stephen”

That just about sums it up eh?

Time for a huge dose of weed killer!
