Articles Spun Out of Control
“Spinning” articles is often touted as a great way of avoiding any form of duplicate content penalty from the search engines, because after some software re-writes the article, you are left with “unique” content.
Now the idea is simple and in principle sounds good… you take some PLR articles, run them through the software, and use them to regularly add new pages to your web site.
But just look what can happen… (these two paragraphs extracted from a recent post on a popular work from home blog - seriously)
Those of we who instruct to take lift out of your commercial operation upon an Internet with programmed tasks need an organic as good as easy to have use of involuntary email reply system. An involuntary email reply complement will take caring of any emails we receive, as good as automatically broach a reply to intensity clients twenty-four hours a day - 7 days a week.
Everyone who owns a commercial operation upon an Internet is regularly seeking for improved ways to lift out business. Email autoresponders have things simpler than ever, assisting us to minimize your every day slight by doing email wait for you. You’ll save income regulating them as well, simply since we won’t be wasting your time responding emails. In an end, email autoresponders will assistance we get improved increase as well. Even yet they will price we income - a formula they give we will distant transcend a cost.
WTF?
I can imagine that this article about email autoresponders (just in case you were wondering) was probably poorly written in the first place. And by the time the spinning software got through with it… LOL
It’s been turned into something that’s pretty incomprehensible!
Throw in the tendency for lazy bloggers to use various plugins which can scour your hard drive looking for PLR articles and auto-post them to your Wordpress blog, and I think you’re going to end up with a site that is an absolute joke!
Personally, I don’t really like many PLR articles, and if/when I use any on my sites, I tend to mainly use them for “inspiration” when I’m out of ideas, and then write something in my own words… because unless you do that, you don’t bring any of your own personality into your sites.
Sure, I could have sites with literally hundreds or even thousands of pages that feature spun PLR articles, but I can imagine a lot of people will arrive, look at what’s available, and then disappear… never to return, or sign up, or do anything useful for me.
Maybe they might click on an adsense ad or two and earn me a few cents… but I’d prefer they became regular visitors. Something that will only happen when YOU have something to say, and you say it in your own words.
And if you’ve got nothing to say, then DON’T!
While my frequency of posting to my various sites is very erratic (I must look at working on that) I can’t see much point in posting stuff which doesn’t really offer anything useful to you, my site visitors.
The main reason why I don’t appear to post so often, is also the number of sites I have - which means my time is spread a bit thin. So while various auto-blogging options would help solve that for me, it’s not something I am comfortable doing.
If anyone’s got some useful suggestions to make to help solve that problem, I’d appreciate hearing about them below.
