Another “Death Of” Product???

Yep! This week I’ve been getting a few emails promoting “The Death of JV Giveaways” - a rather interesting report on the future of Giveaway Events written by the Easter JV Guy, Brad Smith and due to be launched any day now.

As you no doubt realise, there are now literally hundreds of people jumping on the giveaway bandwagon nowadays! It seems to have become almost the …

Interesting Times In China

Since I own several domain names, I have received multiple emails from a company in China claiming to be “authorized anti-cyber squatting organization”. These people are apparently “checking” on various domain name applications being made in China to see whether the “alleged” applicants are legitimate.

Here’s the intro of the latest email… which I find particularly amusing (I’ll tell you why after if you can’t work it out beforehand…)

We received a formal application from a company …

What’s A Small Fish To Do???

For newbies to the Internet Marketing (IM) field, swimming in the ocean with all the big fish (read guru’s) can be a very frustrating experience, for all sorts of reasons. Now, we’ve all heard that you need your own “product” if you are going to really get somewhere with this Internet Marketing stuff…

But let’s say you’re developing your own product in the field of “list building”… or perhaps the latest in “traffic generation” tools…

What …

Firepow - Powerful New WordPress Management Software

Ever since I started using WordPress as a CMS (Content Management System), I’m actually having “fun” working on my various web sites. It’s ease of use is outstanding, and takes away from the drudgery of maintaining or developing a site using older methods (like HTML based).

But… When you start getting more than a couple of sites to maintain and build on, it starts to get slightly complicated… and back comes that frustrating feeling again.

Well the …

Mongrel Thieving Rotten Sod… rant…

Another reason to pay close attention to your web server stats!

I recently discovered that an eBay seller was flogging a product that I give away - the Mike Filsaime Interview - Confessions of An Internet Millionaire.

Nothing strange in that you might say… anyone can flog it…

Except that one of the images he used was stolen directly from my site! Over June and July there have been quite a few requests for the image that …

Rob’s PayPal Drama Is Your Gain - Until July 4

Internet Marketer Rob Toth had a drama with PayPal recently, when they shut him down after using (what they called) some “misleading” wording on one of his sales pages. Basically, they thought he made some income claims which were a bit misleading.

Now I’d seen the page, and the product (Buy Now Wizard), and actually wanted to buy it myself when I had a spare $67. But then he pulled the page to get PayPal off …

It’s My Birthday Today… I’m Older Than Yesterday…

It’s my birthday, today! As is often the case with birthdays… at least as you start getting on a bit… you reflect on what you have “done”.

And today, I realised I have spent precisely one quarter of my 53 years working as a full-timer on the ‘net!

Way back in the good ole days, circa 1995, the ‘net was very like the wild, Wild West. And I was there, blazing trails into the great unknown, trying …

What To “Do” With Your Subscribers?

Miltski asked one of the “eternal” questions that plagues all online marketers in a recent comment he added to a post on this site.

Specifically…

I have recently started up my own newsletter and to be honest, I really struggle to create content. I have the intention to try and “keep it real”. I’m trying to not go down the road of using copy and pasted affiliate letters or PLR. Where would I find an example …

OnLine or Off, If You Ain’t Doing It, You Ain’t In Business

Described as “the most essential tool for marketers” (both in the online and offline worlds) your prospect list and customer list is the one thing that should be always at the top of your mind.

Most entrepreneurs realise that without a growing list of people, highly interested in what you are doing, you will struggle to turn a decent profit.

But my question is…

“How much do you really know about list-building and email marketing?”

I’ve certainly found the …

Up Close And Personal. How Close is Too Close?

It makes sense to reveal a little bit of your “personality” to your visitors and subscribers - unless you are a total raving lunatic - because that helps differentiate you from other marketers. But how up close and personal should you get? How much of your personal life should you reveal through the web? And when does too much get in the way of your marketing?
